Video preview of the new JAK-350 Guillotine unit
JAK-Metalli Oy launches the new JAK-350 guillotine unit, suitable for the R-series tree shear models. The new guillotine unit improves the efficiency of energy wood processing and makes wood handling more accurate, versatile and safe.
The JAK-350 Guillotine unit cuts wood neatly and effortlessly up to 350 mm trunk thickness. The position of the cutting blades of the unit away from the jaws of the chuck allows the chuck to be used simultaneously for cutting, loading and all wood handling.
In the design of the Guillotine unit, safety of use has been one of the main guiding principles. Indeed, when using the JAK-350 Guillotine unit, the jaws of the chuck always close first and the cutting blades cut the wood only afterwards. The high construction of the JAK tree shear combined with the two-stage cutting function ensures that even the thickest tree trunk remains in the firm grip of the jaws even after cutting. The separately closing blades also make work easier when clearing small and prone twigs.

A newly released video demonstrates the operation of the new guillotine unit in the JAK-300R tree shear. The video illustrates the versatility of the product innovation, from felling trees of different sizes to processing wood.
The optional JAK-350 Guillotine unit is installed at the bottom of the R-series tree shear and can also be easily retrofitted to an existing R-series JAK tree shear. If desired, the guillotine unit can be made to work automatically with the grab jaws by means of a single hydraulic system, without the need for electricity, for example.
The guillotine unit will be on sale next autumn, but we are happy to provide more information about the product now.
