LogRunner GS38 Tilting grapple saw for forestry and truck-mounted cranes
The LogRunner GS38 is a tilting grapple saw for tractor-mounted timber cranes, forest machines and truck-mounted cranes. The grapple secures the tree before cutting, while the tilt function helps the operator move from the felling position to handling and loading the cut material.
Applications
- Energy wood harvesting and thinning
- Roadside, railway, field edge and utility corridor clearance
- Problem tree removal in yards and built-up areas
- Controlled sectional dismantling of trees
- Storm damage clearance
- Tree care in parks and urban environments
- Cutting, handling and loading trees and branches
Key benefits
- Felling, cross-cutting and loading can be performed with one attachment.
- On a truck-mounted crane, cut tree sections can be transferred in a controlled manner to the ground, transport body or chipper.
- The tilt function improves positioning and makes it easier to change working orientation.
- A weight of 290 kg leaves more crane capacity for the material being handled.
- Electro-hydraulic control operates all functions through one double-acting hydraulic circuit.
- Automatic chain lubrication reduces maintenance.
- Chain tensioning is manual.
- Manufactured from SSAB steel with extensive use of Hardox® steel.
Installation and control
The rotator and mounting interface are selected to suit the customer’s crane, carrier and application. This allows the grapple saw to be configured for tractor cranes, forest trailers, forest machines and truck-mounted cranes.
