J JAK-500C Tree Shear for 25–35t Excavators

Speed for small trees, power for large trunks

The JAK-500C is a tree shear for 25–35 tonne excavators, designed for felling, clearing and handling trees. It offers a cutting capacity of up to 500 mm. The single-jaw design combines high cutting capacity with a simple and cost-effective construction. Typical applications include roadside clearing, site clearance and harvesting trees for biomass.

Three hydraulic cylinders and two eBoost units included as standard adapt operation to the required cutting force. When cutting smaller trees, the shear uses one cylinder for fast movement. As resistance increases, the second and, when needed, the third cylinder engage automatically and without delay, with no noticeable interruption in the cutting movement. For large and maximum-diameter trunks, all three cylinders contribute to the cut. The operator does not need to switch operating modes.

Fast closing helps keep small trunks and branches securely gripped, improving handling control and supporting safe operation. A fast return stroke shortens the work cycle. Thanks to its closed hydraulic circuit, eBoost’s fast-movement function does not cause additional oil heating. Fast cycle times can reduce fuel consumption per job, lowering operating costs and the associated CO₂ emissions.

The optional felling support helps guide the tree during felling. With the cutting blade removed, the grapple can also be used to handle timber without cutting it.

The JAK-500C is manufactured in Finland at JAK’s own factory using SSAB steels, including Hardox® wear-resistant steel.
