JAK-550S Grapple Saw for 12–25t Excavators

Cutting capacity for larger trees

The JAK-550S is a grapple saw for 12–25 tonne excavators, designed for felling, cutting and handling trees. Its hydraulic chainsaw cuts timber up to 550 mm in diameter. Typical applications include roadside clearing, tree removal in gardens and urban areas, and cutting large felled trunks into shorter lengths on the ground.

The standard 360° hydraulic rotation system makes it easier to position the grapple for cutting. Three-finger gripping jaws provide a secure grip on the tree, while the felling support helps guide it during felling.

Electro-hydraulic control allows all functions to operate through one double-acting hydraulic circuit. Chain lubrication is automatic, and chain tensioning is manual.

The JAK-550S is manufactured in Finland at JAK’s own factory using SSAB steels, including Hardox® wear-resistant steel.

Available with common excavator mounting brackets or a mounting adapted to the customer’s carrier machine.
