Cylinder options

Either a standard cylinder or an LP-cylinder is available for the JAK tree shears depending on the customer's needs and the characteristics of the machine’s chassis. The cylinder options can affect the tree shearers cutting force, speed, and the demands placed on the tree shear by the machine’s chassis.

The LP cylinder is intended for situations where the initial pressure of the machine is 240 bar or less. In this case, the LP cylinder provides more cutting force with a much lower machine pressure. When the machine pressure is 240–300 bar, the right choice is a standard cylinder. Then the tree shear has enough power and is fast.

Tree shearers equipped with an LP cylinder are equipped with a pressure relief valve, which prevents damage caused by excessive pressure spikes. The LP cylinder does not make the tree shear used on 240–300 bar base machines more powerful, but the operation of the tree shear clearly slows down.
